Work(deadline).
Holidays(festival).

Rain.

Hello, can something be changed ?

Looks like it is Chennai’s turn now after the heavy rains at Bangalore.

It has been raining here from yesterday afternoon. Heard that trains (Chennai-Bangalore) had been cancelled for the previous weekend. Lucky that I had not come home. But this weekend it is Diwali and planned since long.

It looks dark even during the day. No power.

Wish I was in school and it was holidays now!

Sometimes I ask questions to get answers, as I do here.
This time, I got answer ready-made. When I qualify for 5 out of 6 reasons with out doubt, I deserve to get no-comments.

It is been pouring in Chennai for the last few days. I really like it when it pours in the night and gets neater in the day so that I can travel to office safely and comfortably. If it is a weekend, the more I wish the skies to stay clear so that planned outings during weekends (which would have been kept pending or being planned earlier) are not hampered.

So today, when the skies cleared up, I, as usually, lazily, started towards office. No idea what made me start so late by estimating the usual time to get to office. Jam, it was one crazy traffic jam on the way. People got frenzy and started deserting the lanes and occupied the opposite lane too. Now where do the oncoming vehicles go? And unless they move, we can not move! I stuck to my lane as I know the other lane has to merge back to this one few yards ahead. I might get an easy flow. Why do not people act with little thought during these time and wait a little which would make everyone’s life easier ? Now all are stuck for an infinite amount of time.

I look around. Everyone seems to be equipped to face the rains. Some are packed in raincoats. Some are covered under umbrellas. Helmets. Varying colours of caps. Plastic covers. Folded pants and what not. And there am I, in the formal attire, in freshly pressed clothes, leather shoes and without any clue of covering. No helmet, no raincoat.

Clouds which seemed to have been waiting for some fool like this, started opening up little by little. Then did I realise what a position am I in. First of all I am late to office, delayed further by the maddening jam, now these raindrops are threatening to drench me!! God, why do not you clear the road only for me for a minute so that I can cruise through to office ? The tension is building up.

Just then, my lane, as I mentioned above, started progressing. As an arrow left from a bow, I sped to office even as the rain drops were trickling. Just when I parked my vehicle and entered the building did the cloud open up. Boy, was it rain ?!

I looked at the sky and smiled. ;-) I was victorious and sort of proud.

It rained for most part of the day. When it stopped for long time in the evening, I decided to leave. The skies are quite clear now. Now I am rushing to my house. There, suddenly out of no clue, as if the clouds remembered my wicked smile in the morning and were waiting to take revenge, bursted. I had left early to make use of some time. To wait for the rain to stop is not going to help. It is raining heavily and I would loose my time. No signs that it would stop for another hour. To cry and accept my defeat is not my way. I continued and enjoyed getting wet, soaked and finally drenched.

I get inside the compound, park my vehicle and the rain stops completely. I look at the skies.

Did someone smile at me? :)

Bit late, but here is the pic from the Gauri-Ganesha festival.

And here is the album:
Festival/

Being bachelor is tough. Had to face several difficulties in Chennai. During the hunt for the house, I call up the owner:
“Sir, we are looking for rented house, and you have advertised in the paper..”
“Bachelors ?”
“Y..” (Could hardly finish saying yes)
“Not available”. Cut.

One owner finally did enough investigation and accepted to rent the house. With TV and enough free time I thought I could have a nice time..But wait, cable Cable owners here want you to buy their set top box and hence they do not show any paid channels. No Star, no zee, no proper movie channels, no sports. It sucks. Even after we pay them we get to watch only free channels. I can’t list what all I am missing on this front.

Missed the colourful play of Sania who is climbing rare heights, a historic win of England over Aussies in what are being said to be “wonderful test matches”, games of Federer, on the way to become one of the greatest players the game has ever seen, his addition of one more jewel to the crown.

There is a CD Player ..some hope…wait! no VCD libraries :(

To hell with these…and got an access to the system (flatmate bought it). When tried to get broadband connection from Airtel, had one hell of experience. Talking of call centers I have had terriblest experiences with Hutch and now Airtel. The problem is unawareness of their own schemes and policies.
Here I go…
What happened is this: Ordered for broadband connection and even after repeated reminders none of them turned up for whole 15 days. Every time they would give one number which makes no sense. Finally we only contacted a person who had earlier gone to our friend’s place to install broadband and that person came at last. But he said there is a problem to provide internet for bachelors. So we have to give 3k as security deposit. Huh! This was terrible. We had even proposed to buy the modem, instead of renting, if that was their concern. But he said it is a policy and suggested we tell the inspector who would come to verify, that we are a family!
I tried to speak to the customer care officers to clear the matter and get that waived off.

I: Hello [explains the problem]…this is the problem. No where on the pamplet is the mention of security deposit. Why is this not transparent ?
L: I will put you on hold and get the clarification….(Airtel jingle..the best part of the call)
L: No sir u have wrong information. I will let you know the latest rates.
You don’t have to pay security deposit.
I: Ok..
[gives latest rates, no security deposit]

I called the agent (A) and told him that they are telling me that no such deposit is required. He asked me to confirm again.

I: Hello..can I speak to L ?
S: L is busy. How may I assist you ?
I: [explains all]…….this is the problem.
S:I will put you on hold and get the clarification….(jingle)
S:Thank you for being on hold. You have got the wrong information and I apologise for that. Everyone has to pay security deposit.
I : (What the ?! ) Oh is it ? But L told me something else.
[And it went on a bit further, but made no sense ]

I called up as a different person to a different number…ordinary person and asked about security deposit. No one mentioned anything about it.

I again call up
L:How may I assist you ?
I: Can I speak to S ?
L: S is on another call..how may I…
I:See, I spoke to u earlier..u said no security deposit for anyone and S tells security deposit for everyone…What is the issue ? Are you all not given complete and proper information ? How can one person’s idea differ from other’s about the same service ? Can I speak to your supervisor ?
L:I will put you on hold….(jingle)
L: I apologise. You have got wrong information, no deposit for anyone.
I:But S said so.
L:I apologise. I clarified now with concerned person. The information I gave is completely right and you can rely on that.
I:Can you get this word to agent ? I want my work done that’s all.
L:Yeah sure..
Tries conference call which does not work.

I am tired and call up agent myself and explain him everything. He gives me another number (his boss).

I speak to him and he clarifies there is security deposit.
I:But why…I am buying the modem
B:It is not for that. We charge for bachelors
I:Can you justify the security deposit ?
B:There are many cases of bachelors making huge bill say of 60k-80k and
running away without paying the bill.
I:See…I am a decent fellow from a respectable software company…
B:We don’t even exempt Infosys Wipro .
I:See, I have taken house on adv/rent and made an agreement, you can take his guarantee.
B:There is no provision for any waiver and you have to pay the money.
I:Is that final ?
B:Yes
I:Ok then, I am not taking your service.

It is not about money.

There is absolutely no logic in it. It is so trivial. If I want to cheat them 80k by making huge bill and running away, I will as well pay the 3k security deposit and make a bill of 83k !

Oh yeah..there is hope…BSNL suddenly slashed rates and waived off some charges. And heard the process is quite fast. Though the wait for the modem was unbearably long, it is ok. At least they don’t have problems about me being a bachelor.

So..finally am on broadband.

Today is Blog day. Or bloggers’ day. When there are dedicated days for
friends, lovers, fathers, mothers, teachers, children, labourers, consumers
and all, bloggers too thought to mark a day as their own. So today it is.
Why today ? Because 31 08 looks like Blog !

During my week long holiday (= holiweek) last week I watched lotsa movies n few plays. Here goes the list with brief comments.

1) Notting Hill
Sk had long back given me this saying any romantically inclined person has kept a permanent copy of the movie. I did not have the inclination and time to watch it so far. The movie is cute. With the usual romantic ups-downs and few hilarious oments and most importantly with the happy ending, movie remains a candy.
Both the leads (Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant) put up a fine show and their fans would enjoy their chemistry on the screen.

2)Life is Beautiful
During one of those few(only when some Indian origin movie/person has a chance to win the award then do I watch and in ‘98 Elizabeth was doing rounds ) Oscar awards live functions I have watched, there was this person Roberto Begnini jumping & walking over the seats, dancing and replacing the customary thank-you speeches by blowing kisses and I love you all gestures. He had won three awards for the movie, direction and erformance. It took me so much time for myself to watch the movie, the creation that had touched the Oscar jury.
Not to mention, I too was moved and touched. It is so funny at times. So cruel at other. It portrays the victory of human convictions amidst the adversities. Triumph of happiness over the approaching sadness. Living and enjoying life before the inevitable. When a happy wave is riding on a sad note, the viewer is restricted to enjoy. At the same time, the gloom is delayed. Anand was another such movie which had the same tune.

My fav scenes include, in no particular order:
The girl falling from the sky; Doc asking puzzle when hero was hopeful of his freedom; the final tank scene; Many others.

3)Mission Impossible (1)
Just like that.

4)Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi
I had long wanted to see this. Have heard rave reviews. And after getting belittled by friends for not having known Sudhir Misra who directed this one, I _had_ to see this. My initial impressions are not that good. But after few thoughts and discussions I have bettered that.

Even then, my views are not that hailing. It is a different kind of movie and good. Movies like this and White noise might elevate the ways/nature/standard of movies in Bollywood. Audience cant just immerse themselves in popcorn, they have to sit up straight, notice, think and absorb.
But it was kind of dark. And to a person ignorant of situations in that place and time, it is not convincing. The actions are too less considering the intentions and intensity.
In the lighter view, it gets simple. It is about the person who loves a girl and does anything and everything for her. About a girl who chases something only to realise she had not wanted it and wanted something different.

5)Mangal Pandey
Total disappointment. Okay, I did shed all the expectations of a mega budget movie. Of Aamir khan. Of Lagaan. Of Ketan Mehta. Everything. No, it does not help.
I will tell you why. If you had named this some Bhuvan Pandey, I could have still taken it, I guess. Or no I guess. The problem is the story of Mangal Pandey is not that much to make a commercial bollywood movie. I read somewhere that he was just a normal soldier. It is good for a documentary or otherwise involve others (like Rani Laxmi Bai) and show us the complete war.
You show us few events (or was it only one??) and end it with only a narration ? I don’t like it when all the typical masala is added and most of it unwanted. Each song was a pain and an obstacle. Give me complete masala typical bollywood with as fictional a story, or give me honest and complete factual story that would move me. Not a pathetic mixture of both. Asoka pathetically tried and failed and now this.
A bit over rated but talented Aamir (and his hairs) had very few scenes to show themselves. His hairs marginally won over, I guess. Rani and Amisha had lot of free time and decided to be a part of this.
Now I see in how many ways Lagaan could have failed. I remember some statement like this “Best of content can be pulled down by a bad process but bad content can not be helped by best of process”.

Few movies I could not fit in: Sehar, 7 1/2 Phere, Kill Bill.

6)Play: Snakes and Ladders
I feared if this was “haavu mattu yeni” in English in which case I had already seen “Sleuth” in both the languages. Thankfully it was not. But I should say this was the disappointing play so far. The energy level was good. The message they wanted to convey was also ok. But it was too loud, chaos and disturbing. Only classmates and parents of the artists were among the audience other than us. For the first time I saw that theater was no near to full house. The lead artist’s accent and performance was good and also that of the cute girl who got to slap and kick everyone!
With this, Nbk’s jinx broke and finally he watched a play at RS.

7)Play: Chitrapata
This is one of those the traditional song and dance plus a story play. Jayashree was all there with her high pitch singing, energetic acting and direction. Other troupe members did their bit well.
The story is about Sita. About the argument of how right Rama was to lead her into Agnipariksha. About Shoorpanaki and her revenge. A fictional continuation of the story where Sita is forced to draw the picture of Ravana, which gets life and impersonates Ravana.
There is a display of pictures to aid the narration and the play. But the title refers to the picture of Ravana written by Sita. Taking a branch of mythological story and narrating it in a way we like and adding some stories to it have always been attracted story tellers and playwrights. The body language, song and dance were the nice things about the play.

With this, after the nth it-didn’t-happen, I will stop asking one person out for the play.

Along with these, I met up with few friends, re-worked on this site (thrice), played carrom, browsed a lot listening to lovely music. So much for a week long break. This is my 3rd week-long break in 6 months :) One more coming soon.

Whosoever ignoble person found the combination with Ctrl key, he must have gone through lot of pain in his life. So he thought of making others realize that. My fingers are almost dead with pain after Ctrl C, Ctrl V and most importantly Ctrl F. It also shows the lack of far sightedness in key board designers who thought the search-copy-paste would be less frequently used than the alphabet keys and thus decided to save keys by not dedicating separate keys. Some good soul came up with Function keys, but seldom are they used.

I am waiting for keyboard-less, completely voice operated computers.

Not a word more, fingers are dead.

Some people have installed a “NOT gate” or “INVERTER” in their mind.
Whatever you say, they would oppose it and reply in negative. I have
carefully studied to see if that has got anything to do with attitude. No it
does not. They simply negate.

I say black they say white. I say right, they say wrong. I say old they say
new.

..
..
..
I don’t accept defeat. I seldom forget.
The next time I get a chance, I say white. They say black :) He he he!!

I am changing my job. I am also moving out, to Chennai. My short break has come to an end. My further frequency of posting will depend on the facilities there.
There are few things that I will miss and few things that I will gain. I might write later about it. It was not an easy decision, but then life is like that.

I am. Yes, I don’t think anyone else would watch back to back movies in cinema hall. PVR. That too alone :D
What the heck ? I havent seen a movie for last 2-3 months. Also I am on a break to relax and enjoy :) When I was busy, everyone seemed to enjoy, now when others are quite occupied, I am having gala time !! I know- watching movies is not that great enjoyment, but then …

If it is worth the time, reviews will follow.

Somehow, lonliness is not as scary! Atleast for me.

It will, so said Murphy. In my case it is very pronounced. Even if something is not supposed to go wrong, it still will. Who can expect the circuit, which was perfect for days, to fail just few hours before the final exam?

Recently again something happened and I really got completely disappointed. I had been to a family function of my uncle. He offered me to take the photographs using his analog camera. This proud digicam owner rejected it and flashed new favourite possession and took good photographs. Amidst the curious queries like “how many photos can it hold, “oh! we can see it now itself?!. “where are the negatives?, “how to take prints etc, I managed to capture some nice moments. Kids hugging each other, grandparents talking serious politics, some wonderful smiles and the photos related to the function were all shot.

If things keep me so busy that I don’t have time to even record them, what more can I ask for ? ;-)

Chennai is a city most people – including its own sons – love to hate , or at least hate to love. The reasons are plenty ranging from hot-climate to unfriendly people. I have never found such a uniform negative opinion about a city !

For me, I just had to visit the place. A two day visit at the most was what I had planned. First, I booked the tickets in advance on-line. I am slowly utilizing the power of net and I found this exercise very comfortable and useful. Last time I had to run to ticket-booking center early in the morning, yet had to wait in the queue for about an hour. This time in an unearthly hour of 11 in the night, sitting at home I could book the tickets.

After the lengthy day, Sriram joined me timely(+1hr) at 8 PM . A visit to Mary brown. Sriram is the most optimistic person I have seen. Imagine him even hoping to get current show’s tickets for a Rajanikanth movie, in Chennai, in the first week of its release and that too on a weekend! We went to a theater, only to find what we guessed.

In an effort to utilise the rest of the day (night), we roamed (walked from Gemini flyover to Triplicane - around 6km) and visited a beach. This is the same area which was partly affected by Tsunami, but did we see any traces? Visiting beach in the night around 10 pm was exciting (read haunting sounds) but we did not play in the water. Then we went to a local railway station (Parakkum rail) which was, completely deserted. I was reminded of the DCH railway station scene. But not even a sign of a beggar to scare us. We tried to shoot some pics of theyear.
Chennai/Picture_109.jpgChennai/Picture_103.jpgChennai/Picture_110.jpg
A ride back to room in a shared auto was a very good.

Lazy start in the morning costed us :(

Having booked return tickets for the night, we had enough time to roam around the city.

We traveled via local train, just for its sake, from Park to Mambalam.

We visited one of the prime shopping streets of Chennai for Jewellery (Usman Road). Also the prime area for clothes. I was surprised by the omni-present shops by name Saravanan. But the highlight of the window shopping was Pothy’s. This shop is huge (4-5 floors of garments). We entered the shop for only one reason – AC. The darbar set-up and other drama-costume clad people surprised me! Also there are small games to keep the kids involved. We even played Chess on a large board This is the only shop I have seen with so much un-selfish concern for the visitors. Hanging around a chess board can actually make one feel the ladies shopping time shorter by hours.
Chennai/Picture_116.jpg
Sriram was again hoping to watch Chandramukhi. I just needed some place to sit and sleep. So we went to another theater. I got a small taste of Rajani-worshipping with all the banners and decorations. Again, of course, we could not get the tickets.
We went to IIT. An envious campus to be at. We even caught a sight of deers running around! We tried to reach main building from main gate on foot, but soon were exhausted. Later took the bus to reach near the main building only to find the canteens being closed. We just had to satisfy ourselves with a look at the library and then we returned.

Off we went to beach (Elliots beach). Under the hot sun on the hot sand, we took a good nap. You should be really tired to realize the beauty of sleep. Few photo-shooting and balloon shooting , then we proceeded to a coffee-bar next to the beach. The contrasting atmosphere with the outside – heat vs ac, silence vs noise , poor vs posh , dull vs colorful – was very evident.
Chennai/Picture_130.jpg
We then went to a HUGE shopping mall – Spencers plaza. One round of window shopping and we were back to railway station. We finally ate something in Saravanan and occupied our seats in train. Sriram also investigated that our co-passenger was Shalini (F 22).

It was a pleasant journey back home. Despite a ton load on my mind, if I could enjoy certain things, that was mainly due to Sriram and of course some part of the credit goes to the city itself - Chennai.

Other Pics

Highlights :

People have run out of names for the hotels I guess – I could see Hotel Park, Hotel Picnic, etc.
    Train journey with(out) the co-passenger Shalini (F 22)
Sleeping at beach under the hot sun
    Visiting the deserted railway station.
Using various modes of communication with in city limits – Local train, bus, auto (3 kinds) , on foot.
    Sriram’s optimism about Chandramukhi.

Omni-presence of stores by name Saravanan.

Yes, you guessed it right !! I am talking about my new buy - Digital Camera ! Canon Powershot A520
BlogPics/3q.jpg You can see the glow of my face while I am writing this, with the camera just in front of me recording this!

One of the long-standing things in my wishlist can be striked off. This has to be my favourite possession…more than even my music system.
BlogPics/MusicSystem.jpg(Let me exclude computer). I mean I dont remember having liking for any particular toy but I liked camera. A camera was on my wishlist even before I had heard about computer ! Even later, I had to delay the buying of camera for various reasons. Now the wait is finally over.

I am at a loss of words to thank Chaitra who bought the camera from States.
I can see the complete professional review here! This is a wonderful site which lists the features, costs, provides reviews, users comments, comparisions and many other things. Must visit for a camera enthu.

Over the lunch table
He: Eeks! You are eating potatoes again ?
I: Head bent and busy eating
He: Potatoes are bad.
I: Grin
He: They contain fat.You will put on more weight.
I: ..
He: Potatoes will kill you. They are so bad.
I: Hmm
He: Potatoes are injurious to health. Don’t know why people eat potatoes.
I: ..
He: You should follow me. Have you ever seen me eat potatoes ?

I slowly raise my head, look into his eyes “And smoking?”.
He blushes, grins, turns red in face, turns his face away.

We silently finish lunch.

During school days/ college days after vacation my fellow friends were disappointed and bored at the thought of getting back to school or college. I used to pity the weeping kids being dragged to schools by their mothers on the first day of reopening. I used to wonder about the difference in reaction by me and others to the same event. I would have easily been bored with holidays and would be looking forward for the new class, new teachers, possibly new faces, new subjects and the joy of starting all over again, fresh.

Looks like I am having a delayed childhood.

There are two things : Interesting and Important.
Watching cricket is interesting. Washing vehicle and stinky shoes is important.
Reading blogs is interesting. Updating technical skills is important.

Priority = Importance + Interest

Internet is information super highway.
I am on BSNL broadband !

Downloading Operating System(s) is fun. With Kazaa, online radio, always logged-on messenger, live news, blogs, transactions at the finger tips, technology and help at a mouse click etc, I realise
that I never knew internet.

Your friendly neighbourhood pal can take orders of download at nominal charges :)

My existence on earth completes its 24 years today !! Happy birthday to me :) Thanks for all those who wished me.

I have taken one week off and am sitting at home. Lot of people expressed their surprise over I doing nothing with the leave. I am just relaxing. Thats a lot of work, you see ;-)
Last time I had taken off was an year ago. That shows how healthy and efficient I am :) Also, I lookup dictionary for the meaning of on-bench ;-)

There are lot of things that I can do and time still needs to be managed well using my priority principle.

I have done a bit of wordpress, and maintaining a site parrallely. More on this later. Also, http://wakeup.to/sunshines brings you to this blog. Big deal.

My previous post was almost a month back :-/ Not only because I was left with no time for other activities than work, but because I didn’t have time to write about them ! So here is an update:

Pyhton Meet
Futures,Ayurvedha,Iscon theme park,Astrology,Journalism.
White noise
Office update
Vanila & Paint
Sms_Timepass

I helped pollination of few vanila flowers. It is delicate work to peel the flower, lift and place pollen grain on stigma. We had just grown it for curiousity and fun. But is a strong source of economy for few farmers.

Vanila, the scent used in icecreams, looks like beans. Costly crop it is, for a kg costed 5k in its prime. The processed (dried etc) would cost 5-6 times more. This crop gave rise to lot of thefts and animosity between neighbours near Shimoga, Chickmagalur. Now the market is not in its prime; the reason being few bad quality output by some of the farmers have given a bad name to Indian crop in general.

Our house is being painted. I got confused over the options of colours to paint my room. I delayed my decision; Finally gave a nod to Pink.

Few things are happening in my sorroundings!! Pavan is leaving and so no one will monitor my mails now :) All the best Pavan! Ramakanth got engaged and now he blabbers about his girl his future etc. Its a welcome relief from his earlier blabbering about ‘jagging’. All the best Ramakanth, may you have a wonderful life ahead.
Sudhakar has quit, to pursue his higher studies. All the best man! May you succeed in your efforts and achieve your goals!

My place has changed. I have selected a corner place which is almost like a cubicle and was used only by PMs earlier. A lonely spacious place with the window next to me has already become envious possession. As somebody said, I really know how to be happy with small things.

“Don’t tell the world what you can do. Show it. Greatest forces in nature are silent. Electricity has no noise. Heat is dumb” This quote has moved from my bedroom to office cubicle out of need.

One good news : I withdrew from BEC :))

Prelude:

After confusing and clearing myself with all the tax related calculations, I am into Shares. And not with out a reason.

In a medieval period when people we knew spoke economy to an extent of the latest Rs 500 denomination, my father spoke shares, debentures, bonus etc. He had had quite a few suggestion seekers, students behind him. Over the time he just withdrew himself from it. Now, one of those students has made it big. And we attended a workshop from him where some thousands of people attended. My intention was to make myself familiar with the terminologies and to investigate the realities of the business. Of course, I had a pen and book with me to double me up as a journo!

Stocks, Futures, Options etc:

The series of seminars that lasted for more than 3 hours, started with a prayer from students of school for blind. The investment company headed by Mr NSK Murthy, donated some amount to the school. An introductory talk by Dr Krishna was followed by a seminar from Murthy. The presentation touched upon various terminologies, tricks, demo of software used to predict the share market, with some humour in between and a question and answer session. Mr Murthy’s wit was at its best display during q and ans.

I am going through 4 huge books on various tactics , trends and newspaper articles. So you know whom to contact for your investment advice !

Ayurvedha:

Next was a session by Dr Krishna, who has practiced allopathy for more than 15 years in US, about an ayurvedic center he has set-up in Mysore. Very elaborate presentation covered the healing techniques used in Ayurvedha to state of the art facilities in the center at Mysore. He has plans to extend the services to other countries by setting up hospitals there.

Theme park:

Iskcon has been granted huge land by Govt near to Kanakapura road to build “theme park”. If you want to experience God, see Him in all forms, even in special effects — thus spoke Iskcon representatives who outlined the attractions and facilities being planned in the theme park. The multimedia presentation movie was as attractive as a movie and was equally professional. The park includes a 4D theater aka iMax, the 4th dimension being vibration of chairs, water sensation for legs, fog creation, smell creation etc. It would play the childhood activities of Krishna. Water sport would accompany some other stories of Krishna with special effects. Sport and relaxation for children, aged people, artistic entry, laser light movie, animated Hiranya Kashipu -the attractions and plans are too many to write down; at the end I felt that the actual is even 10% of what is promised, its worth the wait. I am surely gonna arrange a get-together there!!

To fund their construction (at least by part) they have taken up construction and selling of flats nearby to the said site. An useful intro to that was too present.

Astrology and Advices:

Most interesting speech was next by S K Jain (an astrologer and futurist) who spoke of the “luck” factor that is necessary inspite of all the smartness and hardwork. He also cited many of his achievements as futurist, but most importantly I liked his knowledge of poems and literature. He quoted Sanskrit, Hindi, Kannada quotes and poems just like I use words! He succeeded to tickle the funny bone too! Finally he advocated “Hare rama hare krishna” chanting.

The mad and ugly rush for the free lunch was no surprise considering people had come there following an advt to learn to make crore rupees in a day !!

Postscript:

Each of the above paragraphs is condensed from a 2-3 page article of thoughts, time makes the best editor!
